02.10.09 | Rep. Scott to Host Town Hall Meeting in Richmond on Green Jobs and Clean Energy
WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott will host a Town Hall meeting on Green Jobs and Clean Energy in Richmond. The town hall will be an opportunity to educate and inform citizens on new opportunities in a 21st century "green" economy. President Barack Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan makes substantial investments in green jobs and clean energy.
Congressman Scott will be joined by a panel of experts and business leaders on green jobs and clean energy. The panel will include Mr. Karl Bren, founder of Green Visions Consulting; Mr. Michael Schewel, Chair of the Corporate Development Department at McGuireWoods and former Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade; Mr. Glen Besa, Director, Virginia Sierra Club; Dr. Thad Williamson, Professor of Leadership Studies, University of Richmond; and Dr. James Wetzel, Professor of Environmental Economics, Virginia Commonwealth University.
"Our economy is struggling and President Obama and Congress are making long overdue investments in preparing America for the 21st century economy," said Rep. Scott. "This town hall will be an excellent chance for constituents of the third district to hear from experts and business leaders and learn about green jobs, clean energy and how this growing industry will transform our economy and create new jobs."
